Emo Christian Rap You Might’ve Missed

Over the years I’ve come across a pocket of Christian Emo Rap that most people don’t even know exists. If you’re familiar with the dark, atmospheric style of $\mathrm{Suicideboys}$, imagine that same emotional weight — but without the profanity, vulgarity, or destructive themes. It’s the same raw honesty, just redirected toward healing, faith, and wrestling with God instead of spiraling.

I’ve even heard rumors that the Sui-boys came to Christ. If that’s true, that would be wild in the best way.

Here are some artists who tap into that emo‑leaning, introspective, sometimes gritty sound while still keeping it faith-centered.

Artists With an Emo Christian Rap Vibe

Xerogang

His track “Speak The Name” with Kuris Hoppie is straight heat. Dark atmosphere, emotional delivery, and a hook that sticks with you.

Caleb Conley

One of the most underrated in this lane. “New Man” is my personal favorite — vulnerable, melodic, and full of that “God pulled me out of the pit” energy.

Mogli the Iceberg (Indie Tribe)

Mogli has always blended alternative, emo, and experimental rap. He’s not strictly “emo rap,” but the emotional tone and genre-bending definitely fit the vibe.

English

His name is so generic that it’s almost impossible to search for him unless you include a project title. I honestly wish he’d tweak it — something like English316, English116, or EnglishTheDisciple would help him stand out. Look for “Now That I’m Alive” or “Chrysalis” (both from 2025) if you want to find him.

Eluzai

The artist I’m focusing on in this post. I discovered him a while back, but recently heard “Guillotine,” and the Ghostemane influence is undeniable. He’s got that aggressive, emotional, distorted energy — but with a message that points upward instead of downward.

Why Eluzai Stands Out

I don’t want to repeat everything I said about Caleb Conley, but Eluzai carries that same passion in his delivery. You can see it in his videos — the way he attacks a drum pad, the intensity in his voice, the rawness in his expression.

His studio setup has this retro, vintage vibe that matches his sound: gritty, emotional, and handcrafted. And he’s versatile — he can slide between styles without losing his identity.

Honestly, I feel like he could link up with any of the artists above and create something crazy. There’s a shared emotional DNA between them that could turn into a powerful collab.

Seek and You Shall Find: Digging for Hidden Christian Rap Gems

How does a guy like BranNuYu end up knowing about so many different Christian rap artists—and honestly, so many different styles of Christian music in general? Christian techno, Christian emo or screamo, Christian punk rock or metal, Christian alternative or grunge, even country rap. And it doesn’t stop at music. I’ve picked up all kinds of Christian-related stuff over the years: movies, games, animation, and more

It starts with a search. In my mind, I know it probably exists somewhere. Now I just have to use tools at my disposal (search engines) to find something. My first exposure to Christian rap wasn’t something I went searching for—it just kind of found its way to me. But once it showed up, I held onto it and dug deeper. When LitaRodi came to my high school, performed, and talked with us, that moment stuck. So what did I do afterward? I went home, typed his name into Google and Myspace, and started exploring everything I could find. That simple search opened the door to a whole new world of music I didn’t even know existed yet.

Back when Myspace was still the spot, I discovered a whole world of Christian rap just by digging through LitaRodi’s top friends. That’s where I first stumbled onto Tre9, Soldiers Ona Mission, Von Won, DJ Primo (Rest In Peace), Sketch the Journalist (not an artist, but his blogs led me to even more music), Sypreme, M‑Session, TruVine, and a bunch of others. Most of them had music players on their pages, so I’d spend hours clicking around, checking out new artists, and letting the rabbit hole take me wherever it wanted.

My youth group played a big part too. That’s where I first heard Flame, Lecrae, the 116 Clique, and Cross Movement. Later, at Texas Bible Institute, I met small, unknown artists right in my dorm and heard new names blasting from speakers around campus. Discovery Camp brought in groups to perform, which opened my ears even more.

Honestly, not much has changed. I still keep my eyes open for new Christian rap wherever I go. These days it’s mostly TikTok and YouTube recommendations doing the heavy lifting, but I’m always scanning. Real life counts too—Goodwill, resale shops, pawn shops, thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets, Mardel, even Walmart. (Though Walmart usually sticks to WOW Hits or mainstream Christian compilations unless someone like Lecrae drops something big enough to hit the shelves.)

And of course, the digital hunt never stops: Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, SoundCloud—you name it. Sometimes you already know the artist you’re searching for. Other times you just type in “Christian Rap” or “Christian Hip Hop” and see what pops up. You can even hit X (Twitter), Instagram, or TikTok and browse hashtags like #chh, #christianrap, or #gospelrap to find new voices.

The search looks different now, but the mission’s the same: stay curious, keep digging, and let God lead you to the next artist you didn’t know you needed.

 

From Christmas to Countdown: Christian Rap Tracks Closing Out My Year

It’s Sunday, the last day of my vacation from work. Christmas is over, and the regular songs are back on 89.3 FM KSBJ. No more Christmas music in rotation. Tomorrow I return to work, and probably Tuesday as well, though I’m not sure yet how New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will play out. If I get one or both of those days off, it’ll be a short week, and I’d likely end up working Friday.

Recently, I wrote a blog post about singles featuring Tre9. Today, I want to highlight some songs that include features from Von Won. If you’re not familiar with either artist, Tre9 is the founder of Much Luvv Records, Eyes On Me Inc., Hip Hop Hope Missions, and Disciple the Streets. He has made a real impact in Houston, especially among people from the streets.

Unfortunately, not everyone recognizes Tre9’s influence for a few reasons:

• Not fast enough

• Doesn’t change everyone

Negative mindsets often keep people from seeing the lives Christ has genuinely transformed. Many are skeptical when street dudes or street chicks say, “Jesus changed my life,” because they’ve seen plenty of criminals or addicts claim change but never follow through. There’s a stereotype that people with certain pasts can’t truly turn things around, especially when some do relapse or repeat old patterns.

It is hard to believe sometimes when someone says their life has been radically transformed. Some people think it’s fake. And to be fair, false starts do happen. Some begin learning about Jesus, fall down, get back up, or even fall away completely. There are stories of false conversions or people trying to change through a false gospel or sheer human effort.

But the existence of those stories doesn’t erase the real ones. I’ve seen plenty of people who genuinely bear the fruit of the Spirit — people who show grace, truth, and lasting transformation. Jesus talked about this in the Gospels when He taught about trees and their fruit. There has always been a difference between what’s real and what’s fake, and Jesus showed us how to recognize it. That’s a whole message you can study for yourself in Scripture.

Back to the topic: Tre9 does most of his work behind the scenes. He’ll take the stage, but he’s not the type who tries to draw attention to himself. People know he raps, but he’s not trying to be the “Greatest Rapper of All Time.” His priority is serving God’s people and God’s kingdom — preaching the Gospel, equipping believers, and helping them shine in dark places. He’s passionate about helping new Christians grow into bold soldiers of Christ who aren’t afraid to get their hands and feet dirty in real ministry.

Von Won is one of those soldiers. He learned from Tre9 early in his Christian rap journey. His story includes past felonies and a moment he once described as “shock therapy” when he was tazed by police. Fast forward to today: Von Won is married, faithful to his wife, free from drugs, and leading Space City Church in Houston, Texas.

Christmas on Beat: Christian Rap Songs That Keep the Holiday Season Lit

Jesus Christ is the reason for the Christmas season. But many people mainly think of the commercialized hustle and bustle of shopping, decorating, putting colored lights around the house and yard, Santa and reindeer, elves, wrapped presents or gifts, Christmas trees with a star and ornaments, milk and cookies, family dinner (similar to Thanksgiving), and other festive activities. 

The Christmas/Holiday season can be fun or stressful, depending on who you ask. 

I know of several songs that I hope can be a blessing and to enjoy during the Christmas/Holiday season. Or all year if you like. 

I celebrate Jesus Christ all year round. Although in each season we tend to celebrate specific aspects of him.

Side Tangent: If Christmas or the holiday season is stressful, it doesn't have to be. It's a time where you should have peace and joy. Some people over burden themselves, but we should remember the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 6, to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. He also comforts us with the truth that we should not worry but rather trust he will give and provide what we need.

Romans 14:17 says the kingdom of God is peace, joy, and righteousness. It's important to set healthy boundaries, and know our limits with what we can or can't do by ourselves. If it's too much a burden to decorate, put lights up, cook, and all that. Don't. Or do less than all that extra stuff. Keep things simple and basic. Feel free to have lower budget Christmas. $10 or $5 or $1-3 gifts. Free yourself, and don't make yourself a slave to pleasing other people.

We should remember the Nativity scene and remember why we even celebrate Christmas, Look and find the true meaning of Christmas, Emmanuel (God with us) who came and was born as fully God and fully man at the same time through a virgin named Mary, Jesus came with the purpose knowing that he would have to die for our sins, Christ the Messiah, the, Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. 

Salvation through Jesus Christ is a gift for all to accept. Because all have sinned, and need salvation. Regardless of if you are Jew, Muslim, Atheist, Buddhist, ect. God wants us to leave our old life of false religions and accept his son. The moment you leave your old life and turn your back on the world and sin, you will be at odds with the world, marked as an enemy, because the world wants to be comfortable staying lost in sin and blind to truth, the truth hurts, the truth convicts and doesn't feel good because it sets an ultimatum where you choose to repent and be saved or don't and stay damned. 

Christianity and Christmas is not just for those already in the "Christian religion" or being for the Christians only (God would rather you actually know him than to just play the "I go to church" game and be a "Christian" in name only... check Matthew 7:21), but for all man kind to forsake false/godless religion and idolatry, and to accept the payment Christ made for sin with his death on the cross in order for whosoever believes in him to be saved, born again, and have a transformed spirit that is no longer dead but alive in Christ as a new creation. 

God wants a relationship with us, where his Holy Spirit indwells us, not where he's some distant deity, he isn't the universe itself. He's the creator of the universe. New Agers tend to see the universe as God. That is Pantheism and collective consciousness (Some call it Christ Consciousness), they believe in manifesting things into existence, speak it to be, name it and claim it, law of attraction, (basically stuff from the book called The Secret). God is not a genie. We don't manipulate him to get what we want. We pray and ask, and it can be yes, no, or wait. He is God and we are not. He is Lord. And God the Father knows best.

Christian Emo Rap

I deleted all my past blog posts, and started over. I kinda wish I didn't delete them, that was history. I had reviewed different Christian Rappers like DJ DMD and his Christian Remake of 25 Lighters On My Dresser which became 25 Bibles On My Dresser. I'd also made posts about several Texas and Houston Christian Rappers, some underground or less known/popular artists, along with the more popular artists like Lecrae. 

It's almost the end of 2025, Christmas is getting close, and 2026 is around the corner. Here we are, and we have not only Christian Rap, but Christian Country Rap, and also Christian Emo Rap! Here is a video by Caleb Conley called New Man. It's got a similar style (throaty/raspy emo vocals) to Suicideboyz and Ghostemane, but it's clean with no profanity, and all 100 percent boldness and passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Caleb switches his voice up on his different singles, so he's not a copycat trying to sound like someone else, he's got his own unique style.
